The project is planned to provide uninterrupted access for pedestrians and cyclists in the Bosphorus between the Asian and European continents. With this project, the first and only pedestrian tunnel built under the sea that will connect the Asian and European continents will be realized in Istanbul.
When the entrance and exit points of the tunnel within the scope of the project meet with the planned public transportation transfer centers in Kabataş and Üsküdar; By providing a pedestrian connection between these centers, it is aimed both to ensure uninterrupted transportation and to create an alternative to the existing sea transportation on the Bosphorus that will not be affected by bad weather conditions.
Since the tunnel planned in the project is a long distance in terms of walking, there will be fast treadmills, bicycle paths and electric transportation vehicles for individuals who have difficulty in walking. |
